The Board of Trustees of the Sands Point Civic Association thanks all members of Village government and the Civic Association who assisted in the preparation of this handbook, and welcomes suggestions for future changes, updates, and additions from all who use it.

The original research and drafts of this handbook were the work of Amy Pett of Port Washington under the direction of Joan G. Kent, a trustee of the SPCA until 1991; illustrations by Frank Daniel of West Islip under Joan Kent’s direction; revisions, final editing and layout design by SPCA trustee Edward Adler. The first edition was printed in August, 1992 and the first update was printed in November, 1997.
